Skybound X Will Not Be Collected In Trade Format

In what will surely upset collectors who collect comics in trade format, Image Comics announced to comic retailers that the upcoming mini anthology series Skybound X, which celebrates the ten year anniversary of the comic imprint started by Robert Kirkman and others with not be collected as a trade paperback. Image dd not provide a reason to their decision to not produce a trade of the series.

Skybound X, launching in July, is a 5-part anthology series celebrating the imprint’s 10-year anniversary. Skybound has brought readers great boos such as The Walking Dead, Ultramega, Murder Falcon, and more and will be brought to readers by an all-star list of creators including, Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, Tillie Walden, Donny Cates, Joshua Williamson, Chip Zdarsky, James Harren, and Daniel Warren Johnson.

Image’s Skybound X is a 5-part weekly anthology that will not only bring some new stories from old favorites. It will also introduce some new characters from the universes of Assassin Nation, Excellence, and Manifest Destiny. It will start with a story featuring Rick Grimes from the pages on The Walking Dead.

Since Skybound X will not be collected, fans are strongly urged to pick up the individual issues from their favorite local comic shop. The current release schedule for Skybound X is:

  • Issue #1: July 7, 2021
  • Issue #2: July 14, 2021
  • Issue #3: July 21, 2021
  • Issue #4: July 28, 2021
  • Issue #5: August 4, 2021

Each weekly issue will cost $4.99.
