DC Comics to Return to New Comic Book Wednesday

The week, ComicsPRO 2024 was held. This year, its annual industry meeting, held in Pittsburgh, provided comic book retailers from all over to gather and allow member retailers to listen in to publishers from across the industry. During it’s presentation, DC Comics provided a lot of old and new news with its upcoming publishing initiatives. The most important reveal, particularly for comic retailers, was the announcement that beginning in July, DC Comics will return to Wednesday release dates along with the rest of the comic book industry. They return to Wednesdays after spending the past few years releasing titles on Tuesday. They made this change in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

From their release:

Responding to feedback from retailers and readers, DC is returning to the traditional Wednesday on sale timing, with new collected editions and graphic novels continuing to release on Tuesdays. As a result of supply chain disruption in 2020, the publisher pivoted to a Tuesday release schedule for new periodicals. This summer, DC will realign with the industry standard of Wednesday releases, and the New Comic Book Day that fans look forward to each week.

DC Comics will officially return to New Comic Book Wednesday on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

Stay tuned in to the Comic Book Spot for more news coming out of the annual ComicsPRO 2024 annual meeting.
