Comic Picks for February 21 – Our Top Picks
Kicking things off in our list of comic picks for February 21, 2024, we have the second issue of Jonathan Hickman’s Ultimate Spider-Man over at Marvel Comics. As the first issue came to an end Peter Parker realized his destiny and let the radioactive spider bite him as it was meant to be before the Maker’s interference in the timeline. What is next for our brand new hero in Ultimate Spider-Man #2, and what effect might it have on his family. Plus, is this new Green Goblin friend or foe?
Next up, we have the final issue of Robert Kirkman’s Fire Power with Fire Power #30. Owen Johnson has experienced a lot over these past 30 issues. Whether it was the loss of his parent or the new family he started, Owen has held strong as he continued his training at the Temple. Now, in this final issue, he attempts the impossible one last time.
Then we have Superman #11 from Joshua Williamson and David Baldeón over at DC Comics. Since he began his run at the beginning of the Dawn of Joshua Williamson has been building his world in Metropolis to get to this point. Lex’s past have haunted his from the start and now they have come together to form the Revenge Squad. They look to vanquish Lex Luthor and all who support him from the face of the planet. This includes the Man of Steel. If there is one low point in this series for me, it’s that Jamal Campbell is no longer doing the interiors. However, he continues to kill it with the main covers for the series.
And Finally…
Finally, we have Cobra Commander #2 from Joshua Williamson and Andrea Milana over at Skybound/Image. After the major reveal at the end of the first issue, what extents will Cobra Commander go through to find a new source of energon. And what happens when he comes face to face with the Dreadnoks. If you are not following the Energon Universe, you are truly missing out.
As always, check back here next week at the Comic Book Spot for more picks & news.
