It’s a fifth week this week and that can only mean one thing. It’s a light list this week as we reveal our latest picks for this upcoming New Comic Book Day. Only eight books make our list this week. While there are some ongoing titles releasing this week, we have an annual and a special as well. With with that being said, check out our comic picks for May 31, 2023 below and visit a comic shop near you.
Our Top Picks
Kicking things off in our list for our comic picks for May 31, 2023, we have Amazing Spider-Man #26 from Zeb Wells and John Romita, Jr. at Marvel Comics. I haven’t been following this series since the end of Nick Spencer’s run. However, the news of the chaos on social media has me picking this up. I did read the spoiler. I just want to say that if you haven’t, you’re a better person than I. However, prepared to be ticked off. You’ve been warned.
Next up, we go to the second issue of W0RLDTR33 from the team of James Tynion IV, Jodie Bellaire & Fernando Blanco at Image Comics. As someone not a huge fan of suspense/horror, the first issue of this series caught me by surprise. I picked it up as a fan of Tynion and I’m glad I did. Ellison Lane’s brother has been told about the Undernet. Will he be caught by its murderous influence?
Finally, we have the 2023 annual for Star Trek from the team of Colin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, & Rachel Stott at IDW. As the publishers leads readers to the upcoming Day of Blood crossover event, the annual serves as a breather of sorts. The crew of the Theseus is taking a break from their mission. But in the world of Star Trek, when have breaks ever lasted long? Get ready for some holodeck fun.
