It’s another week and that means we have another New Comic Book Day. This week, we have less titles than last week. Last week, DC Comics dominated our list of picks. This week, however, things even out some with the publishers. There are a few #1 releases. However, a good bit of continuing stories that you should be following makes our list. So with with that being said, check out our comic picks for March 29, 2023 below and visit a comic shop near you.
Our Top Picks
First up on our list for our comic picks for March 29, 2023, we have The Ambassadors #1, a new title from writer Mark Millar at Image Comics. You have the ability to grant super powers to any six people you want. Who would you select? What’s interesting in this mini-series is that each issue features a different, high-profile artist. For issue #1, that artist will be Frank Quitely.
Next up is Dark Knights of Steel #10 from Tom Taylor and Yasmine Putri at DC Comics. Last issue’s shocking ending revealed that a White Martian disguised itself as Queen Lara-El. The queens of the three kingdoms – Diana, Nessa, and the real Lara-El must come together to determine how they can move forward. And don’t forget that the Green Man is still out there.
Finally, we have Dungeons & Dragons: Saturday Morning Adventures #1, a new series from Sam Maggs with art by George Kambadais at IDW. This series is for those living in nostalgia from the days of Saturday morning comics. Before the board game grew into the phenom it is today, CBS introduced kids to six school-age kids who got stuck in the world of Dungeons & Dragons. IDW sets the series as a “lost episodes” book. The title depicts stories not told during the cartoon’s three seasons on CBS. This is a series for D&D fans, young and old.
As always, check back here next week at the Comic Book Spot for more picks & news.
