Comic Picks for April 17, 2024 — Our Top Picks
Kicking things off in our list for our comic picks for April 17, 2024, we have U & I #3 from J. Michael Straczynski and Mike Choi over at AWA Studios. This story has been quite interesting, especially after the events of issue #2. The figure known as “U” seems to sees and hears the world quite differently than others, which seems to set him on his mission. Is there any chance Isabelle figures this out. Let’s not forget that there’s a crime syndicate looking for them as well.
Next up, we have Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #26 from Mark Waid and Dan Mora over at DC Comics. This series has been up and down for me. However, the main story picks up from once of the stories in the recent annual bringing in some of our favorite characters from the Fifth Dimension. Trust me when I say the first page alone gets two thumbs up from me.
Next, we have Avengers: Twilight #5 from Chip Zdarsky and Daniel Acuña over at Marvel Comics. Last issue, we saw Cap’s team grow stronger after rescuing Tony Stark and Thor joining the fray. However, the Red Skull has made his true plans known. Is it too late to save the United States or has the Red Skull finally accomplished his lifelong mission of taking the country down.
And Finally…
Finally, we have Wonder Woman #8 from Tom King and Daniel Sampere over at DC. I have to give credit where credit is due. Most who know me know that I have been down on Tom King since his run on Batman. However, his run on Wonder Woman has been pretty decent since it ties with everything occurring in Amazons Attack. This issue finds Diana trapped by Sovereign. HOWEVER, even if the main story was downright terrible, the backup stories with Trinity and the Super Sons have been glorious.
As always, check back here next week at The Comic Book Spot for more picks & news.
