It’s Wednesday and you know what that means. It’s New Comic Book Day!!! With another week it means we have another slate of great books to check out. Last week, our picks were sort of light. This week, however, we have almost double that of last week. This week’s list has a new series and a few reaching the end of their arcs. So with with that being said, check out our comic picks for April 5, 2023 below and visit a comic shop near you.
Our Top Picks
First up on our list for our comic picks for April 5, 2023, we have the final part to Jeremy Adams’ and Roger Cruz’s One-Minute War in The Flash #796. The Fraction has nearly completed their Speed Force enhanced invasion of Earth. But Barry Allen and the Flash Family have one more trick up their sleeve. By the way, it involves time travel. Plus, Wally West is still alive and he has his own plans for saving the day. Will he and his team make it in time?
Next up is Saga #63 from Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples at Image Comics. Last issue had a lot going on. Alaina relived the day she found Marko’s corpse and Hazel is dreading over the idea that her mom won’t consider the possibility that he could be brought back. But if Alaina doesn’t want to take that chance, lil Squire does if it means bringing his dad back.
So why, why is Disney Villains: Scar #1 in our list of picks this week? It’s simple – Chuck Brown. Recently, Brown has taken on some interesting characters from John Carter of Mars to Dejah Thoris. This doesn’t include the original books he’s doing as well. So when the opportunity came to see his take on another well-known (yet evil) character, we jumped at it.
And Finally…
Finally, we have Icon vs. Hardware #2 from the folks over at DC and Milestone Comics. Hardware has figured out how to travel back in time. In doing so, he has prevented the Big Bang from occurring. But all is not right in the city of Dakota and Hardware isn’t certain he wants to fix it. However, if he doesn’t, Icon is waiting to do so.
As always, check back here next week at the Comic Book Spot for more picks & news.
