It’s a new week and that can only mean one thing. It’s time to reveal our latest picks for this upcoming New Comic Book Day!!! We have about the same number of books as we did last week. Last week’s slate of books were evenly spread amongst the various publishers. This week, however, Image Comics is coming on strong with almost half of this week’s list. This week’s picks include a few first issues as well as a few coming to their end. So with with that being said, check out our comic picks for April 12, 2023 below and visit a comic shop near you.
Our Top Picks
First up on our list for our comic picks for April 12, 2023, we have the second issue of Superman: Lost from Christopher Priest and Carlo Pagulayan at DC Comics. After last issue’s reveal of Clark’s 20-year adventure, we begin to find out what he encountered. What environment did he enter that turned several hours into several decades? If you missed our review of the first issue, read it here.
Next up is the final issue of Charles Soule’s and Ryan Browne’s Eight Billion Genies from Image Comics. We have reached the end of the journey seeing everyone in the world granted one wish. However, there are still a few left. How will they be used? Who’s genie will be the last to remain on earth?
Then we have Monarch #3 from Rodney Barnes and Alex Lins at Image Comics. Last issue, we learned of Travon’s connection to the invading aliens. What’s next from the young boy whose life has changed in ways unimaginable. Better yet, what’s the fate of the loved ones he left behind at school, especially Daysha.
And Finally…
Finally, we have a new horror series from James Tynion IV, teaming up with artist Fernando Blanco to present W0rldtr33 #1 from Image Comics. Some friends found their way to the Undernet, an unknown, dark architecture to the Internet. They shut down W0rldtr33, a violent message board within the Undernet – or so they thought. Now, they’re about to get a new lesson in the meaning of the word PH34R.
As always, check back here next week at the Comic Book Spot for more picks & news.
